The ‘Pirate’ Ships
Although Hernán Barcos did not start the season as the ‘9’ starter for Alianza Lima, he had to take Pablo Sabbag’s place after the Colombian suffered a sprained ankle and then the same injury worsened. What generated that, today, the blue and white starting striker is the ‘Pirate’ who, in addition, is the team’s top scorer along with ‘Sheikh’ with nine goals each.
However, beyond being one of the team’s strikers, the ‘Pirate’ hasn’t scored for seven games, of which he started as a starter in six. The last time he had a goal cry was in the 2-1 victory against Atlético Grau on date 1 of the Clausura Tournament and, since then, he has not ‘wet’ or received any assistance, another from the main features of it. As for statistics, Barcos presents an average of one goal every 134 minutes.
The ‘Sheikh’ Sabbag
For his part, so far in the Clausura Tournament, Pablo Sabbag only started as a starter against Universitario de Deportes and was able to score a penalty against César Vallejo for the sixth date in the 113th minute of the match. With the exception of that shot from twelve steps, the Colombian had not scored since the 2-1 defeat against ADT in Tarma on June 2.
However, Sabbag has an average of one goal every 111 minutes because at the start of the Opening Tournament he had a good rhythm scorer that allows him to be one of the gunners equaling the ‘Pirate’. In fact, he came to score in three consecutive games when the championship began, but in this second part his injuries took him away from the courts and, when he had to be, he was not fine in front of the rival goal.
So far in League 1, in addition to Barcos and Sabbag with nine goals, those responsible for the goals have been Gabriel Costa and Bryan Reyna with four goals each. And, so far in the Clausura Tournament, those who scored were Hernán Barcos and Jairo Concha (Atlético Grau), Jesús Castillo (Deportivo Municipal) Pablo Sabbag (penalty against César Vallejo), Bryan Reyna (UTC), Jairo Concha (Cusco FC ) and could not score against Sport Boys, Sporting Cristal and Universitario de Deportes.
Keep an eye on rivals:
As for the comparison of forwards, both ‘9’ from Alianza Lima have an average below that of the scorers of their direct rivals in the Clausura Tournament: Universitario, FBC Melgar and Sporting Cristal. If the intimates have Barcos and Sabbag with nine goals each, in the ‘U’ the scorer is Alex Valera with 12 annotations, while the light blue striker is Brenner Marlos with 11 and, for the red and black, Bernardo Cuesta has 12 annotations.
Likewise, so far in the Closing Tournament, Alianza Lima has 5 goals converted and is well below Universitario (14 goals), Sporting Cristal (18 goals) and FBC Melgar (16 goals). Considering that the intimate team has two outings left, Mauricio Larriera maintains the scoring drought as a pending task to be resolved.
