After the Xbox Games Showcase took place, the digital event in which Microsoft showed titles coming out on Xbox Series X, the fandom began to wonder what had happened with the initiative that consumers would not have to immediately buy the next console. generation to enjoy the games that will come to it.
This after it emerged from the tabs of various titles shown at the event that they would no longer reach Xbox One, which meant the need to get an Xbox Series X to enjoy them.
In fact, the initiative was referred by Phil Spencer -leader of Xbox- in an official statement released just on July 16, in which he assured that no one would be forced to make the leap to the next generation for the next couple of years to play the titles of Xbox Games Studios because they would also come to Xbox One.
To find out first-hand if that initiative still stands, we looked directly at Xbox and the official response was a tweet posted by Aaron Greenberg, the brand’s head of marketing, who said that first-party titles are developed with Xbox in mind first. Series X, without implying that they will not reach Xbox One.
Greenberg posted that tweet in response to a thread by Stephen Totilo, editor-in-chief of Kotaku, that Microsoft had decided that the first Xbox Series X releases were not cross-gen.
‘The future first-party titles are developed first for Xbox X Series. I don’t mean that those games won’t make it to Xbox One, we’re just prioritizing Series X and each studio will decide what’s best for their game and community at launch, ‘ was the complete answer.
We're updating the headline to reflect this confusion. Where will we play these new Xbox games? Take your best guess pic.twitter.com/WRSE2dlyYv

Greenberg refers to all the studios that are included under the heading Xbox Games Studios and basically said that the decision to leave simultaneously in Series X and One or first in one console and then in another will be the responsibility of each one.
