The offer barely includes three versions, two gasoline and one diesel, covering a very limited spectrum of powers and to which the German firm is going to expand in the coming months.
The range starts with the basic 220i that already offers 184 hp and culminates with the sportier M240i with its 374 hp obtained from the 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder block, which is offered with xDrive all-wheel drive and 8-speed automatic transmission. . In between, this new option is located, that of the 230i. Under the front hood, it mounts the same block as the basic version of the 2 Series Coupé, the 2.0 liter four cylinder with a twin-scroll turbocharger, although the maximum power figure experiences a significant quantitative and qualitative jump.

The image is the same as the range access version, with two exhausts and each placed at the ends of the rear bumper, so it will be the anagram of the mechanical version that can identify it. Nor will there be differences inside, although due to its technical characteristics the German brand will offer the suggestive option of the M sport differential to channel all the power and offer more remarkable dynamic sensations on board.
For sale from next March, BMW has announced that this version will only be offered with rear-axle drive, which means that, for now, all-wheel drive will be limited to the powerful M240i. Yes, the transmission is eight-speed Steptronic automatic, with a sportier operation, «Launch Control» and including paddles behind the wheel.
