The new Ford Fusion Active 2023 has been seen again in spy photos, although this time very far from the other side of the Atlantic. The blue oval firm has returned to southern Europe to run a series of tests for this peculiar SUV that will launch next year in the United States.
Once again, Ford returns to southern Europe with test models that will be sold in very different markets on the Old Continent. Those in the blue oval already covered some tests of the new Everest in this southern region of the continent last year, as well as the new Lincoln Zephyr. On this occasion, a couple of prototypes of the new Ford Fusion Active 2023 have been seen in a series of tests under the intense heat of the south of the continent
Two units, one of them in a very early phase with a lot of camouflage in tow and another with a significant loss in which their true forms can be seen more clearly. these new spy photos of the Ford SUV show the front very camouflaged, with a black canvas that prevents seeing the design of the radiator grille, sensing some very slim headlights and a new light signaturea style inspired by the Ford Evos sold in China.

One of the prototypes, in a more advanced phase of its development, also reveals part of the rear light clusters in an attractive boomerang shape. The silhouette shows a roofline that slopes further into the rear volume, behind the rear doors, which feature the recessed handles in the panels. The sporty touch is provided by the rear-view mirrors, as well as the higher height of the body to the ground, more typical of a crossover than an SUV.
A very interesting bet that will become the Subaru Outback’s competitor in the United States, and that will also cover a important gap that remains free in the range of models of the firm in this important market, that of the Ford Edge. A model that aspires to become a reference thanks to its familiar style, with two rows of seats and five seats, as well as a generous boot volume. An interior that will be very modern and technological, but for now we have not been able to see more clearly. And it is that the brand has taken care that not a single detail is seen, being covered up to the large panoramic roof.
The future Ford Fusion Active, whose trade name is not definitive and will have its own name, will hit the market in 2023, positioning itself for on top of exhaustthe twin of the European Kuga, being offered with versions of petrol with an electrified solution, plus a plug-in hybrid option. Mechanical options that will all be combined with one change 10-speed automatic and with front or all-wheel drive.
