The prototypes of the new BMW X1 2023 take a step forward in their development. After a year in the first phase, they go to a new level, already mounting all production headlights, headlights and taillights. An important advance in which their real forms can also be seen more clearly.
More than a year in the first phase they accumulate the prototypes of the BMW X1 2023. The new generation of the compact SUV has again been seen, although this time with an important comparative advance. The model already has all the optical groups of production, one more step in its development and in its launch.
The spy photos show a significant loss of camouflage. At the front, the headlights have a thinner shape and have been stretched towards the fins, counting on a luminous signature of LEDs vertically, in the same line as those seen in the Series 3 Facelift. The shape of the grille is also visible, retaining the classic format of the two BMW “kidneys”. The bumper remains covered, although a black painted honeycomb mesh is visible.

From behind, the model known internally as «U11» shows the new slimmer pilots with a darkened top section and sinuous position light. The new X1 has lost the parts that deformed some parts of the rear volume, although not enough to be able to see the new shape of the fixed rear window, the familiar Hofmeister fold, characteristic of the brand and of each particular model. A cleaner side that will have the handles integrated into the panels of the doors, but manual operation.
The most modern exterior design of the X1 will be complemented by an interior revolution, because, like the new Series 2 Active Tourer, too will feature the new curved screen as standard, integrating in a single piece the instrument panel and the infotainment and navigation part. The Bavarian firm will offer complete equipment, as usual, inheriting from the minivan the new sonos sound system.
The advance means that the terms of its development are being shortened. The third generation of the X1 will be presented in late spring 2022, going into production in July and with sales scheduled for the end of the year, as model 2023. It will arrive with a range of gasoline and diesel, three and four cylinders, a plug-in hybrid and also a fully electric variant, with different aesthetic features on the iX1.
