Dacia has reached a very important milestone in vehicle production. A brand that comes to ratify the commercial successes being reaped by what is currently considered the best low-cost car brand. Dacia has just produced the 10 millionth vehicle in its history.
The brand Dacia has written a new chapter of its history. The Romanian manufacturer has achieved a very important milestone related to the production of vehicles. A figure that comes to ratify the success that it is reaping throughout the European territory. Dacia has manufactured the 10 millionth vehicle in its history. An event that allows the company to enter the club of manufacturers that have produced more than 10 million vehicles.
The 10 millionth vehicle manufactured by Dacia has been a Duster. More specifically, a Dacia Duster with the special Extreme finish and a bodywork painted in Urban Grey. The specimen has left the assembly line of the production center that Dacia has in Mioveni (Romania). Logically, and as expected, the moment has been immortalized for later.
The Sandero is the most manufactured car by Dacia
It’s important pointing that, despite the fact that the 10 millionth vehicle was a Duster, it is not the most manufactured model by Dacia. This particular title falls on the Dacia Sandero (and its Stepway variant). The brand has produced 2.6 million units and claims to be the best-selling car to private customers in Europe since 2017. For its part, the Duster is the best-selling SUV to private customers in Europe since 2018.
Dacia manufactured its first car in August 1968, a Dacia 1100. The following year, the iconic Dacia 1300 went into production, giving rise to a whole family of derivatives (Saloon, Break, Coupé and Commercial). It remained in production for 35 years and was key in the motorization process of Romanian citizens.

The entry on the scene of the Renault Group and the changes in the Dacia brand
In 1999, the Renault Group acquired the Dacia brand and opened a new chapter in its history. The Dacia Logan, which was launched in 2004, allowed the company to become a manufacturer with an international vocation. One year later, in 2005, Dacia established a new chapter in its history as a car manufacturer by setting up a production line outside of Romania, at the Somaca factory in Casablanca, Morocco.
Today, Dacia models are sold in 44 countries, mainly in Europe and the Mediterranean basin. In 2021 the Sandero and the Duster were present in the ranking of the 15 best-selling cars in Europe. The Sandero was in third position, proving once again that it is a sales success in the Old Continent.
