Everything is almost ready for you Manzana make your new conference where you would present us, in theory, the new iPhone 14. It is a fact that the new generation smartphone would be the central axis and the most anticipated product for the event.
But with the release of the official invitation to the keynote, it was discovered that an Augmented Reality mini-experience was hidden and activated automatically when using the iPhone to enter the Apple Event site.
So this detail, along with a lot of leaks that have intensified in recent months, have led to speculation that Apple could actually give us a big unexpected surprise with the confirmation of the existence of some project or platform focused on Augmented Reality. (AR) or Virtual Reality (VR).
Now a disturbing leak has just surfaced that could all but confirm that the Cupertino boys really are thinking of taking a giant leap.
This would be RealityOS
It happens that the crazy BloombergNews a couple of months ago they detected the existence of a disturbing trademark registration, under the name RealityOS.
The procedure would have been carried out before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in December 2021, but it was not until a few months ago that its existence was made public.
Everything happened very shortly before the WWDC activities started, so many believed that this would be the big surprise of the event more than the new version of iOS.
As we saw, that was not what happened, but the idea of the existence of this RealityOS is still alive and the doubt about what exactly it is still remains.
The trademark document registration at the time was made for the categories of “peripherals”, “software” and “laptop hardware”.
But the procedure was not carried out by Apple, but by a mysterious company recently created under the name of Realityo Systems LLC.
This detail for many could mean that Apple has not actually registered the name for a possible operating system for a Mixed or Virtual Reality device.
However, it is an increasingly common practice for large companies to implement this move of creating an outside company in theory only to register titles that actually belong to them.
One major point of speculation is that both Realityo Systems LLC and Apple both registered the same locations for their corporate address.
The first company to file for RealityOS trademark registration and the guys from Cupertino to trademark the name of their macOS California desktop operating system.
All at the same time that Apple in some development records of its App Store integrated lines of code alluding to a certain “RealityOS”.
So yes, everything indicates that Apple has a Virtual Reality project on its hands. The question is whether it will be shown now on September 7, 2022.
