Netflix just made the official renewal of ‘Cobra Kai’ for a fifth season. The announcement comes months before the premiere of the fourth, which is a new proof of the great confidence that the platform has in the series located in the ‘Karate Kid’ universe.
Imminent start of filming
As is logical, it is unknown what the story that ‘Cobra Kai’ tells in its fifth season will be, but it seems logical to think that it will have to deal with the result of the tournament that will take place in the fourth. The only sure thing is that filming will take place this coming fall in Atlanta, even before the premiere of the fourth batch of episodes next December.
Netflix has also not clarified the possibility that the fifth season is the last of ‘Cobra Kai’, but the truth is that it makes sense that they keep that information if this is the case. This way they can get headlines later, probably after the premiere of the fourth one so that the expectations of the public continue to be high.
Created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, ‘Cobra Kai’ began its journey on YouTube in 2018 before making the leap to Netflix when two seasons had already been released. That didn’t stop it from becoming one of the most popular series on the platform.
Remember that the fourth season will mean the return of Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver, the past villain of laps that we could already see at the time in ‘Karate Kid III: The final challenge’.
