INEOS is working hard on the development of its new off-roader. The INEOS Grenadier. This 4×4 vehicle will lay the foundations for a pick-up. A variant that has been photographed for the first time carrying out road tests. Both models will be manufactured in Germany.
The development process of the INEOS Grenadier keep going. INEOS continues to work at full capacity on an ambitious project. Give life to a new off-road vehicle with which to enter a market that has become very elitist in Europe. Over the past few months there have been numerous sightings of this 4×4 vehicle. Even the brand itself has shown interesting previews of the exterior and interior.
INEOS has moved to southern Europe with the aim of making the most of the so-called summer tests. And it has been in this area of the Old Continent where it has been hunted in broad daylight and by surprise, the pick-up variant that will come to the INEOS range later. That’s right, the new Grenadier will be used as the basis to give life to a new pick-up.
Spy photos of the new INEOS Grenadier pick-up
The company itself already confirmed at the time that the INEOS Grenadier pick-up it will be a reality. And finally we have the first spy photos of a test sample. Some snapshots that make it quite clear what this variant will be like that will come later to form a more varied offer and that allows it, to a large extent, to differentiate itself from other SUVs that once had a pick-up variant and that, today, is not available .
Just take a quick look at the photos to discover the very close relationship that the Grenadier pick-up will have with the model from which it emanates. The cabin, a priori, will remain intact. And it is that it will retain the same side panels and doors that will give access to an interior that will offer capacity for up to five adult passengers. Now, it will be right from the rear doors where the changes will take place.
The hunted evidence does not have the rear box to carry the load. However, and taking into account where the rear pilots are positioned, we can get a pretty good idea of how big the rear cargo area will be. It will not be excessively large but. In addition, we have as a reference the images published by the brand.
The engine of the new INEOS Grenadier pick-up
With regard to the mechanical section there will be no surprises. And it is that the same options of the Grenadier range will be offered. The INEOS pick-up will be powered by a selection of gasoline and diesel engines of BMW origin. Engines that will be associated with a automatic gearbox ZF eight-speed and a system of Four-wheel drive with the possibility of locking the differential.
When will it hit the market? The first units of the new Grenadier will hit the market in 2022. It will be in that year when the serial production process begins. A manufacturing that will take place in a facility located in Hambach (Germany). This production center was owned by Daimler. The order book will open before the end of this year.
