The online servers of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain have their days numbered and they only have a few months to live in their versions for PS3 and Xbox 360. Konami has announced its decision to close them forever on both consoles, something that will be officially produced on May 31, 2022.
All this will affect both the main game and its multiplayer Metal Gear Online, although the closure will occur in four different phases. Without going any further, the first one has already been activated and consists of all internal purchases have been disabled and you can no longer buy anything with real money.
Later, on November 30 of this year, the exact same thing will happen with the DLC items. Already entering next year, from March 1, 2022 the game will not be able to be purchased again in the digital stores of the two consoles until the final closure occurs on the date previously indicated.
Konami wanted to point out that this decision only affects online modes, so the entire single player campaign will continue to be available on these systems. However, the company will not make any refunds, hence no more purchases can be made from today.
On the other hand, it has also warned that it is not ruled out that some change may occur on the indicated dates. It also does not seem that none of this will affect the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions, at least for now.
