MAX has released a first look at The Penguina spin-off from Matt Reeves’ Batverse. The eight-episode series starring Colin Farrell will continue the epic crime saga begun in batman.
At the end of the movie with Robert Pattinson we saw the Riddler kill Carmine Falcone, one of Gotham’s top mob bosses to flood the main downtown area in a coordinated terrorist attack. Thus, Oswald Cobblepot will seek to fill that power vacuum in the criminal underworld of Gotham.
Joining the Oscar-nominated Irish actor are Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, Clancy Brown and Michael Zegen.
Based on the characters created for DC by Bob Kane with Bill Finger, The Penguin is produced by 6th & Idaho Productions and Dylan Clark Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television.
The Penguin will executive produce Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell, Bill Carraro and Lauren LeFranc, who will serve as showrunner and screenwriter. Daniel Pipski of 6th & Idaho also serves as executive producer and Rafi Crohn as co-producer. Craig Zobel will direct the first three episodes.
The first look was revealed today exclusively during the presentation of the service of streaming MAX from Warner Bros. Discovery. The production will premiere sometime in 2024.
