Alexander Skarsgård reveals how The Northman’s Viking mythos have nothing to do with Thor: Ragnarok.
The movie The Northman is now available in theaters and tells the epic adventure of a group of Vikings led by Alexander Skarsgard. They have described this story as very realistic and the leading actor has revealed in different interviews that he has given everything physically and mentally. But now, he has compared her to Thor: Ragnarök and obviously when people go to theaters they will find something totally different from the great success of Marvel Studios of 2017.
When they asked Alexander Skarsgard Yes The Northman was very different from the Viking representation of Thor: Ragnarök and so he answered:
“The way this idea was born was basically about 10 years ago. I began to think that I had never seen a historically accurate representation of the Viking Age. I’ve never seen a great epic Viking adventure film based on the ancient Icelandic sagas that captures the laconic tone that is really harsh, like the scenery. It started to seep into my head why I had never seen that.”
“I think the Thor movies are wonderful. And obviously they take a lot of creative freedom. They’re very much inspired by a lot of the old sagas and have elements of them, but they’ve turned into something more. I think they are very entertaining. Taika Waititi is a dear friend of mine, he did an amazing job on his Thor movie. I loved him, I thought it was so much fun, but again I wondered why there had never been a more realistic or more grounded Viking movie.”
