A year and a half has taken the Nio ET7 to enter Europe. The Asian model was unveiled at the beginning of 2021, a high-power electric saloon with a range of 1,000 kilometers, the figure most desired by customers. Now, the first shipment of this model has just left China for the Netherlands, the first European market where it will be sold.
In just a few months, the roads of the country of tulips will see the first units of the new Nio ET7. The Asian firm has begun exporting this electric sedan on its way to Europe, where it will arrive in a few weeks. The great port of Rotterdam awaits a ship loaded with units of this model that will have to do with the dominant electric ones in the European market.
Well protected, a huge barge loads this electric model from a young Chinese brand that has achieved its ambitious goal in just over seven years since its foundation. Nio’s goal is to upend the category of zero-emission sedans, with a very attractive design on the outside and inside, but with some technical arguments that today are difficult to overcome. The Nio ET7 is a sedan that slightly exceeds five meters in lengthso its rivals are as careful as the Premium Audi, BMW and Mercedes, of true luxury.

The Nio ET7 is a very persuasive new electric
The Chinese brand is convinced that it can stand up to these luxury models, despite leaving its advanced autonomous driving technology, which is not yet available in Europe, in the Far East. In its favour, the fact of having already manufactured more than 200,000 units of its models and of having conquered Chinese customers, who are almost more demanding than European ones, but also a quality that eliminates any possibility of customers suffering from energy anxiety syndrome.
And it is that, despite the fact that the specific specifications of the Nio ET7 that will be sold in Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Denmarkthe model is offered in China with a battery with three levels of net capacity –70, 100 and 150 kWh– providing maximum autonomies of 500, 700 and 1,000 kilometers, some figures that have been measured with the old NEDC cycle, so the real ones will be somewhat lower. What is standard is the drive configuration, with two electric motors, all-wheel drive and a maximum power of 653 hp.
The manufacturer has confirmed that, throughout 2023, it will market another smaller model in the Old Continent but with the same format, the ET5. It should be remembered that the Nio range has two sedans -the ET5 and ET7- and three SUVs, the ES6, ES7 and ES8. An offer that it intends to roll out in 25 countries in 2025, becoming an alternative to European and American brands.
