For many years, Apple has offered its devices in different shades, it all started with the colored iMac, continued with the iPod range and is still very present in the iPhone or iPad. However, accessories such as AirPods or Apple Pencil have always arrived in a clean white.
For a long time, we have waited for black AirPods, but for now, it is something that has not happened. Something similar has happened with the Apple Pencil, the first and second generation of the pencil for the iPad has only been available in white, but a new rumor indicates that the color black could be an option soon.

Does a black Apple Pencil make sense at this point?
We have not heard any rumors about a third-generation Apple Pencil, really the new iPad Pro does not need it. So perhaps Apple could update the current model with a new black color instead of releasing a new generation model, although perhaps it doesn’t make much sense.
This Twitter account, Mr. White, does not usually leak details about future Apple products, although it has shared multiple hardware prototypes on several occasions, some of which have been accurate and others have not. So we cannot know if these rumors will end up becoming something real or not.
On second thought, it would be very strange for Apple to simply launch an Apple Pencil 2 in black without introducing anything new. Another different thing would be for Apple to introduce a new third-generation Apple Pencil and the color black was an option, but simply launching the same Apple Pencil in a new color makes perfect sense, not a strategy Apple has used in the past.
Although there is a small possibility, similar to the one that Apple used with the iMac Pro in space gray color that came with the Magic Keyboard and the Magic Mouse in black. If Apple will present a new iPad Pro, with the rumored mini-LED panel, and that the black Apple Pencil was an exclusive accessory of this model, that fits us more, although it is not something that Apple has done in the iPad range either.
We will see if at the end of the year, which is when the new iPads with many new features are expected to be presented, this new model of Apple Pencil finally arrives, although if we do, we hope that it incorporates some of the new features that Apple has patented, such as screens or touch zones on the body of the Apple Pencil itself. It only remains to wait.
