It has just arrived and has already become the fastest hypercar on the market. The new Rimac Nevera has broken all records held and for having in a quarter mile event held in the United States. The Croatian firm has surpassed until the records of the FIA, with an acceleration from zero to 100 km / h of vertigo.
The new Rimac Fridge It is one of the most extreme hypercars on the market, and with serious arguments for not having a single rival in sight. Its prototypes were already able to demonstrate truly heart-stopping and record-breaking performance, with truly brutal accelerations. However, there is a very clear difference between making records official and not doing so.
The latter has gone through the notaries assigning the Croatian hypercar its status as fastest model in the quarter mile. The record has been set in the United States, in the presence of the experts from «DragTimes» and with one of their pilots aboard the hypercar, which has four electric motors that together develop a maximum power of 1,914 hp and a maximum torque of 2,360 Nm.

With an ambient temperature of 37º and 65º on the track, the Refrigerator had the mounting of standard tires, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, and with the «Launch Control» function activated and coming out like a catapult during a dozen tests in a row that did not degrade battery capacity or degrade performance, so in the eleventh the aforementioned record was achieved.
The ¼ mile was achieved in a time of 8.582 seconds reaching a top speed of 269.58 km / h, once again surpassing himself. And it is that the last pre-production prototypes were able to set a record at the beginning of the year during one of the last tests on an airstrip in Croatia, recording a time of 8.62 seconds, so once again he has also beaten himself.
Miroslav Zrnčević, Rimac test and development driver, explained that “Our traction control learns the surface in every race and adjusts the torque at the wheels. After some adjustments and different tire warm-up strategies, we managed to get better results. Brooks helped with his experience in staging the car and we managed to set the world record for the fastest accelerating production car and also broke our own 1/4 mile record. Even so, We trust that the Refrigerator has much more to give and that we can go even faster with more experience and tests on this type of surface. We will be back.”
