The start of the pandemic made us go through various changes in our routine, reinforce some habits such as hygiene for a healthy coexistence and, above all, prioritize our safety.
Being most of the time working at home, clothing also took a 180° turn, adopting more relaxed, comfortable styles that, in the office, were not allowed. That is why, at present, in meetings by zoom we usually wear a shirt and a jacket on top, and shorts or pants at the bottom. You’ve done it?
Without a doubt, we all go through some change in the way we dress during the pandemic and now, with the inevitable return to the offices, will the way we dress change completely?
It all depends on the business
For people who work in creative businesses such as advertising or fashion agencies, a flexible dress code has been maintained.
On the contrary, in business environments such as the financial sector, sales, banks or lawyers, the suit predominates and a more business casual dress code is now allowed.
Thus, giving the opportunity to wear combinations of clothing such as a sweater instead of a jacket and dresses instead of a skirt and jacket set.
From the formal to the functional
Following the in-person return to work, several companies have adopted a more functional approach to their dress code, i.e. wearing formal wear only for office meetings or presentations.
Tie, handkerchiefs and scarves?
They are garments considered decorative, which are not washed after each use, therefore, making them a potential source of infections. Some companies have chosen to make the use of these garments optional, or even, they are no longer worn.
more daring people
After the pandemic, a new trend that has emerged is to explore new combinations of colors, textures or more daring shapes in clothing, as long as companies are open. Now it is more common for garments, shoes or accessories to be more protagonists that reflect the style of each one.
First of all, comfort
During the pandemic and working from home, the clothes we wear became more relaxed and comfortable because there was the freedom to dress without a regulation or dress code; therefore, going back to the tailored suit or heels is an idea that not everyone wants, so both brands and people have opted for garments that provide greater comfort without losing formality.
Although personal interaction is not yet implemented in all companies, those who have chosen to maintain a hybrid work scheme or 100% home office are unaware that changes in clothing have emerged.
It is important to reintegrate following the rules of each company respecting your essence, branding personal and the image you want to project.
