The new Genesis GV60 has just been unveiled. The unpublished model of the luxurious Korean brand is one of the most anticipated great novelties, first because it is its first compact and second because it is electric. Developed on Hyundai’s e-GMP platform, it presents a very modern design, with special details.
A long development that has already come to an end, because the new Genesis GV60 has just been unveiled. It is the third model in a new range of next-generation electric cars, loaded with technology like its brothers from the Korean giant. The GV60 is one of the most important models in the new Genesis strategy, especially in Europe.
The world premiere of the new electric crossover is expected for the Munich Motor Show 2021. A model with contained dimensions, the smallest so far manufactured by the luxury brand, and with which it will face its serious bet in Europe. Aesthetically, it is perfectly recognizable as a Genesis, with the front and rear light clusters divided into two thin LED strips. However, the large ridge grille has been dispensed with, closing the front and limiting the evacuation of heat to a grille at the bottom of the bumper.
The new Genesis GV60, an electric crossover with a very daring design
A differentiating detail that forms only one piece called “Clamshell Hood” and that distinguishes it from the rest of the models in the range or with the new eGV80, the electric version adapted on the luxurious saloon. The GV60 also stands out for a special silhouette, with a very curved roof line, a clean side with the door handles integrated into the body panels, and with rear view mirrors that can be replaced by high-resolution cameras on slim arms.
But it’s the back pillar that shows the most modern detail, with a bite on the rear pillar occupying the rear window part of this pillar. The sloping tailgate that lends a suggestive coupé look ends in a marked spoiler with a third brake light integrated throughout. The new GV60 also boasts a luxurious interior, with a technological dashboard that is occupied by a large horizontal screen extending from the instrument cluster to the center console.
The third model developed on the e-GMP platform, such as the new KIA EV6 and Hyundai IONIQ 5, will be offered with, a version of a single engine and rear drive with 229 hp and two with all-wheel drive, with 325 hp and 436 hp, in addition to a high-performance 600 hp. All options will be associated with a battery of 77.4 kWh, with a maximum autonomy that will reach 500 kilometers, rechargeable to 80% in 18 minutes.
