The AS Interiorista interior studio signs the reform of Mories House, a restaurant located in the Barrio de las Letras in Madrid, for whose transformation they have been inspired by the works of the famous Madrilenian author Lope de Vega.
Taking a walk through Madrid’s neighborhood of letters is a Spanish Golden Age trip. Lope de Vega, Góngora, Cervantes and Quevedo shared gatherings and living space in just 4 or 5 streets of the most traditional Madrid, which now remember their famous neighbors with statues and verses engraved on the asphalt. Added to this tribute is the new design of Casa Mories, where each room is inspired by a landscape or sonnet by the author.
The restaurant has the perfect mix between history and modernity. Its walls are covered with microcement that give a rustic finish to the premises and that integrates perfectly the original blue tiles of the premises. In contrast to the walls and to give strength and color to the space, it has been designed a pink and blue design that energizes and unifies the three floors of the restaurant. These three floors house four separate rooms but connected to each other through arch steps or interior windows, each inspired by a poem by the author.
In the front room we recognize “la Siega” with the wheat and the metal lamps that resemble the scythes to collect them.
In other rooms, the swallows take flight and in others the passion red tones are the protagonists of the lamps.
The bathroom has a very striking design with the walls, doors and ceilings lined with zebra wallpaper.
The facade -according to the historical flavor of the neighborhood- hides the beautiful tribute that Adriana Somoza and Caridad Tercero or, As Interior Designer have paid to the famous author.
