Elegant and with very interesting solutions, the bo M is a new electric scooter that seeks to move away from the traditional appearance of the majority e-scooters on the market. In addition, it is powerful and has qualities that make it especially safe.
Some have already called it “the Tesla of electric scooters” for the intention of the brand founded by former employees of Williams Advanced Engineering and Jaguar Land Rover to become pioneers and benchmarks of micromobility.
Not in vain, the promise of bo Mobility It offers a better designed electric scooter, with better performance and longer life than any of the existing products currently on the market. The result of that aspiration is the new bo M.
The integration of the Intralock system allows the bo M to have built-in wireless charging
That’s the bo M
There is no doubt that, at first glance, what is most striking about the bo Mobility e-scooter is the design: its curved monocoque structure It resembles the neck of a swan in its front part and gives a presence and elegance that is difficult to compare with other models on the market.
This, in return, prevents the scooter from being folded, but the objective of the bo M is another. Thanks to this concept, it offers greater rigidity and soliditybut it also allows incorporating many things inside said monochassis.
safesteer
One of those items is the safesteer systema hybrid analog/digital device that aims to improve stability, balance and maneuverability.
“When you go from a big bike wheel to a scooter wheel, you lose all your gyroscopic stability”recalls one of the co-founders, Oscar Morgan. Safesteer helps restore balance, allowing you to ride with the same level of nonchalance as you would on a bicycle.
To achieve this, a lot of attention has also been paid to detail in terms of weight distribution, wheel dynamics and suspension. Or, in this case, the lack of it. Not surprisingly, bo Mobility decided replace traditional 8-inch wheels with 10-inch ones to offer greater balance and grip.
smart solutions
The bo M has different details that make it interesting. One of them is the electrically folding double hook and located in the front interior part of the chassis, and that fulfills a double function. On the one hand, it allows to attach anti-theft devices, on the other, it makes it possible to hang a shopping bag during the journey.
“You see a lot of people walking around with bags hanging from the handlebars,” says Harry Wills (another co-founder of bo Mobility), And it’s really dangerous. The load becomes unbalanced and swingsand then bump the scooter a bit when you come around a bend or corner,” he adds.
Another solution that is well worth looking into is intralock, a Mous system that allows the user to attach their mobile phone safely. It is a mechanical support equipped with N45 magnets, aluminum teeth and a phone case.
Thanks to the perfect integration of this system, the bo M has built-in wireless charging. This, without a doubt, is a great advantage when we circulate with the mobile indicating a route to follow, which always consumes a lot of battery.
Finally, bo Mobility intends to incorporate a solar wireless charging station at the end of 2023 to accompany the bo M. It is the bo E, a charging point 1.5 meters high and 0.5 meters wide that is anchored to the ground, has a 4G configuration and includes anti-theft fixing and audible alarm to prevent the theft of the scooter.
Technical sheet, price and availability
We have not talked about the technical characteristics of this new electric scooter. Count with one 500 W average power motor and 1000 W maximum power. Its maximum speed is 24 miles per hour (39 km/h), although the brand adapts it to the regulations of each country so that it can be used anywhere.
This is the bo M in motion.
With a weight of 18 kilograms and a battery whose capacity is unknown, it reaches a range of up to 50 kilometers and takes about 3 hours to recharge from 0 to 100%. The brakes incorporate ABS and a regenerative system, and the scooter software is also updatable via OTA.
As expected, an electric scooter as sophisticated as the bo M is not exactly cheap. In fact, it costs no less than £1,995, about 2300 eurosalthough it can also be obtained under subscription at a price of 69 pounds per month (about 79 euros).
Currently, the order list for 2022 is complete and whoever wants to purchase a bo M will have to join the waiting list preferential.
