The second model of the new Asian electric car brand has broken all the schemes of those responsible for the firm. The Aiways U6 is an SUV with a coupé image that has just gone on sale in China, destroying sales forecasts. It only took one day to win over customers from the Far East.
A single day has been enough for the new Airways U6 has conquered the Chinese public. The new model of the Asian brand has become a model of true commercial success, because after making an appearance in a television program broadcast on one of the Chinese networks with an audience of millions of people, sales skyrocketed to a figure that has surprised those responsible for the firm.
Aiways order books have amassed no less than 2000 reservations in a single daysweeping like never before, at least in the Asian giant, and like it had never happened before in a brand that is barely five years old, since it was founded in 2017. In this short period, it has managed to strengthen its position in the local market with the Aiways U5, which already sells in Europe, and soon will expand the offer by also bringing the new U6.
The Aiways U6 becomes a success in a single day
The Shanghai-based electric car brand has confirmed that will launch a new vehicle every year, both in China and Europewhere it has established a permanent headquarters that will handle the development of new models – prototypes and spy shots of Aiways tests will soon be seen in Europe – as well as sales, after-sales service or marketing activities, also overseeing the presence and the launch of the firm’s models in 16 countries outside of China.
The Aiways U6 will be the sportiest bet, at least from an aesthetic point of view, although the chassis configuration will also vary slightly. The manufacturer has confirmed that the “MAS” light platform, which allows a high degree of adaptation thanks to a scalable quality, will differ from that of the U5 in very specific componentsso driving will also be more dynamic.
The brand has confirmed that the new model will arrive in the Old Continent before the end of the year, so the commercial launch in the main European countries will take place progressively throughout 2023. Although the technical specifications have not been finalized yet, we do know that one version will be the same as the U5, with its 150 kW electric motor, equivalent to 204 hp. The lithium-ion battery that powers it has a capacity of 63 kWh, with a maximum autonomy with a single charge of 410 kilometers.
