We have already told you that ginger is a super food. In my case, I have been including it in my diet for years as if it were just another spice. I add it to infusions, rice dishes like this one; pasta; curries, like this one with chickpeas and mango; or even in carrot cake, to which I add cinnamon, ginger and a little cloves.
That’s why when I read about the “ginger water”, I did not think about it and I have already incorporated it into my day to day. we tell you what it consists of, how to prepare this drink at home and what its benefits are.
## What is ginger water? It has also been linked to positive changes in cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, and liver health.
## How to make ginger water at home The best way to make ginger water at home is with ginger root. Properties like this are better preserved since it is a fresh product, and you will not have problems finding it. Practically all greengrocers already have this product in their catalogue. **It can be consumed both hot and cold** and the preparation is extremely simple.
Put the water to heat in a saucepan and when it starts to boil, remove from the heat and add the grated ginger and, if you want, the cinnamon, mint or lemon. You can add what you want if the flavor is too strong for you, and look for the spices and herbs that you like the most. Let it infuse for about 10 minutes and add a couple of tablespoons of honey (I take it without adding any type of sugar). Strain and keep in the fridge in a glass jar with a lid or a glass bottle so that it does not pick up odours.

Any time is a good time to take the infusion, but in my case I have already become accustomed to consuming it first thing in the morning. Instead of having a glass of water on an empty stomach, I drink the ginger water with lemon. But you you can include it in your diet for example after training or next to a snack healthy mid-morning
