The Metaverse welcomes you to the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires, giving users the opportunity to visit the well-known Teatro Colón from any geographic location and for free thanks to the Decentraland metaverse.
The renowned Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, vaa to be one of the spaces available from March 28 in the Museum District section at Metaverse Fashion Week, fashion event that will be held from March 28 to 31 of the same month.
The Teatro Colón, known for its architecture and the works that it has inside, will be “the first artistic venue of Decetraland,” as reported by the Buenos Aires government website.
What will be observed from the metaverse of Decentraland will be a digital representation of the place, interested people will have the opportunity to virtually walk through some spaces of the Teatro Colón such as the golden room, the main hall and the concert hall. Likewise, within the Museum District, users will find digital works of art and exhibitions.
The metaverse is a virtual world that increasingly expands its horizons, until now users can interact with other people who are online, with the elements offered by the metaverse in which they are, participate in events, play, among others.
On this occasion, users must access the metaverse via the Decentraland website and customize a character with which they will take the tour, although they will also have the possibility of not doing so and only carrying out the virtual tour with a random character by pressing the “Randomize” option.
To be part of the event or eventually make the virtual visit to the Teatro Colón, those interested will have to register under the option “Play as guest” (play as a guest) or also linking their digital wallets in the option “Play using your wallet” (play using your wallet). This last option gives the user the opportunity to also buy NFTs available in the digital art galleries of the Decentraland metaverse.
“The Teatro Colón is one of the most emblematic buildings in the City of Buenos Aires, and one of the most important theaters worldwide. With this innovative experience in the metaverse, anyone, from anywhere, will be able to discover it through of a virtual world that allows us to bring a part of our culture closer to other corners of the planet”, explained Diego Fernández, Secretary of Innovation and Digital Transformation of the City Government.
Although Decentraland was created by Argentine developers, with this project about to materialize, the Government of Buenos Aires would be one of the few Latin American governments to make an appearance within the Decentraland metaverse.
