Those of the star do not waste time. At the same time that they are working on the improvements they have designed for their most familiar compact SUV, those in the sports division are already working on the Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 Facelift. These spy photos show the news that this sports version will offer in 2023.
The product department specialized in the development of the Mercedes GLB blows as much smoke as the rest of the models of the German brand. If a few days ago we saw the first prototypes of the Mercedes GLB Facelift, now it is the turn of the sports version. The compact SUV specially designed for families, and large ones, who travel with a lot of luggage faces a partial renewal that will be seen in the middle of next year.
In these new spy photos you can see is the Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 Facelift 2023. The first of two high-performance options bearing the Mercedes-AMG seal. Captured at the front gate of the Affalterbach headquarters, the prototype of this grosser GLB features camouflage in the key areas under review, the front bumper completely covered, as will offer new lines and air intakes designedat the same time that it will share the headlights with the normal versions, more rectangular and thinner.

On the right side you can clearly see the new LED string for daylight running along the top edge, as we have seen in the rest of the compacts that are undergoing the update process, a new hallmark. The grille with the sporty Panamericana-style grille will also look differentiated, with smoother edges. At the opposite extreme, the AMG GLB 35 Facelift only features camouflage on pilotsbarely changing the luminous graphic of the optical groups.
A very early prototype, since the lower part of the bumper, the one occupied by the skirt, will also receive an aesthetic improvement. What will not change excessively will be the interior, in which the most notable change will be the absence of the touch control of the transmission tunnel. Mercedes will offer improved equipment and an update to the “MBUX” platform, while AMG technicians will be in charge of refine the chassis settings combining the star’s signature comfort with sportiness which is characteristic of it.
The revised Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 Facelift 2023 is expected to receive the technology 48-Volt MHEV on the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that mounts, which means that the energy saving solution “EQ Boost” debuts in this propellant that will increase its performance. Its 306 hp will receive an extra injection to get closer to 350 hp, keeping the 8-speed DCT automatic gearbox and the “4MATIC+” all-wheel drive. Mercedes will present this option at the same time as the conventional ones, so it is expected that its commercial debut is ready for the end of spring 2023.
