The conflict between Black Panther and Namor could trigger one of the biggest conflicts in the MCU
There are many stories featuring the hero that could be perfectly chosen by Marvel Studios to make a new film. However, some comics are highly anticipated by fans to be adapted into one of the most successful cinematic universes in history.
The advances of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever appear to show an all-out war to be waged between the nation of Wakanda Y atlantis. This could point to a recreation of a brutal betrayal carried out by the new character in charge of assuming the role of Black Panther. In promotional material for the upcoming film, the character is introduced to the public. namor.
The Atlantean king is shown in the latest trailer waging war on Wakanda and even flooding the capital of the great nation. This is exactly what he did during avengers vs. X Men after being exposed to a fifth of the phoenix force. The effect this had on Wakanda, since it managed to decimate the population and destroyed much of the infrastructure of the entire country. This was something that Wakanda and his queen shuri they would never be able to forget.
Relations between the two isolated nations have not improved since then and have only been the source of strong disputes. Despite the strenuous efforts of both T’Challa as of his own namor to come to some kind of agreement and drop all discussions. The couple had a deep hatred for each other, but still tried to usher in peace for the sake of all their people. when the event avengers vs. X Men concluded and gave way to the imminent threat of incursions from the multiverse, the two warrior kings found themselves in a secret alliance and very uncomfortable to follow. Faced with this greater threat, the two individuals were forced to put aside their differences, but this was not the case with Wakanda usually.
In New Avengers #7of Johnathan Hickman, Mike Deodato, Frank Martin Jr., Rain Beredo, and Joe Caramagna, namor he sued for peace, in an attempt to put the conflict aside while these raids continued and became much more dangerous. However, as the raids were not understood, shuriwho was the Black Panther at that point, he made the decision to ignore calls for peace and plunge Wakanda into all-out war against atlantis. The pain of seeing his entire nation plunged into total destruction led to namor to lie to Thanos about there being an infinity gem in Wakandahoping it would cause the same level of devastation it had suffered atlantis.
While it is true that Marvel is unlikely to use the well-known phoenix force, Thanos or raids, at the moment, many of the other elements of this narrative arc seem to be present in some trailers about the film. Along with the flooding of the capital of Wakanda mentioned above, the issue that Wakanda has been weakened in the eyes of the world by the absence of T’Challa of the throne is present both in the trailers and in the most current comics. This suggests that the inspiration for the film is being taken from this particular story.
Also, this story was the first to show an open war between atlantis Y Wakanda, which appears to be the central story of the film based on the announced trailers. However, the public will not know to what extent this version of the conflict will be recreated on screen, all the evidence points to a faithful tribute. He seems to be dealing with a Wakanda that the world would seek to take advantage of, a re-enactment of this deadly betrayal would certainly be a fitting show of force for the African nation’s version within the UCM.
