We already knew that the renewal of Windows 11 was going to transcend beyond the operating system. At the moment we have seen specific application renewals but, there is much more in development. Yesterday with the launch of the new build in the Windows 11 development channel, new updates of the applications arrived Cutter, Calculator, Mail and Calendar. Some of the updates are minor, but all are designed to match the new visual style in Windows 11.
Mail, Clippings and Calculator get updated in Windows 11
Microsoft is replacing the classic Snipping and Snipping and Annotation Tool apps in Windows 11 with a new Snipping tool that combines the best features of both apps. The keyboard shortcut Win + Shift + S it will be the main way to take a screenshot, and it will activate the cropping menu with various options to select what content to capture.
Once a screenshot has been taken, the Snipping Tool includes editing options for cropping, annotations and more. Microsoft is even finally adding a dark mode to the hack tool, so it will match your system theme
Microsoft is also updating its applications Mail and Calendar in Windows 11 to match the new visual style of the operating system. “We’ve added rounded corners and other adjustments to make them look and feel like part of the system.”says Dave Grochocki, a senior program manager for Windows inbox applications. Of course, we remind you that this is only an intermediate step until Monarch, the evolution of the Mail and Calendar app, arrives.
The Calculator application in Windows 11 is also receiving some minor improvements that will allow you set a separate theme to the one you are using in the rest of Windows. Microsoft has rewritten the Calculator in C # allowing developers to contribute to its development through GitHub.
