However, in 1994 Stanley Corenprofessor of psychology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver (Canada), went further and wrote The Fabulous Intelligence of Dogs, a book that shows which dog breeds are the smartest. According to the author, these dog breeds are the most intelligent since during the evaluation, the dogs of this selection understood new commands with less than five repetitions and obeyed the first command 95% of the time -or more-.
Border Collie
Considered one of the most popular herding dogs today, this breed emerged on the border between Scotland and England as a herding dog, especially to work with flocks of sheep. Regarded as an extremely intelligent dog, full of energy, acrobatic and athletic, they generally compete with great success in herding contests and other dog sports. According to Stanley Coren’s list, the Border Collie is the most intelligent breed of domestic dog.
Poodle
Considered the exclusive use of aristocrats and nobles until the 15th century, the Poodle was a water collector dog until the Renaissance (they retrieved prey that had already fallen into the water, such as ducks and swans).
