Less than a month before the start of the preseason, real Madrid gives the final touches to its 2023-24 squad. After having closed the incorporations of Brahim Díaz, Fran García, Jude Bellingham and Joselú, the box of Santander League has announced this Wednesday the continuity of one of the players of the old guard: Toni Kroos (33 years old). After weeks of talks, the Spanish club and the German midfielder have reached an agreement to renew the contract until June 30, 2024. The news has been taken with joy by the Merengue fans.
Toni Kroos, who had a contract with the white club until the end of this month, is already the German player who has defended the Real Madrid shirt the most times with a total of 417 games. Despite the fact that he is no longer indisputable in Carlo Ancelotti’s team, he has decided to continue at the Bernabéu for at least one more year.
It should be remembered that Toni Kroos joined Real Madrid in July 2014, coming from Bayern Munich and shortly after being proclaimed world champion with Germany in Brazil, during the first spell of the Italian Carlo Ancelotti as the club’s coach.
In his nine seasons in the Real Madrid squad, the midfielder has won 20 titles: 4 UEFA Champions League, 5 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, 3 Leagues, 1 Copa del Rey and 3 Spanish Super Cups.
Which players did Real Madrid sign for 2023-24?
So far, Jude Bellingham is Real Madrid’s most important signing for the new season. Before the Englishman, President Florentino Pérez finalized the hiring of Fran García, a 23-year-old Spanish left-back who comes from Rayo Vallecano in exchange for 5 million euros.
Another player who reinforces Carlo Ancelotti’s 2023-24 squad is Brahim Díaz. The Spanish attacker has returned to the Santiago Bernabéu after spending three seasons on loan at AC Milan, from September 2020 until the end of this season. During this time, the 23-year-old footballer played 124 games, scored 18 goals and provided 15 assists.
The last player to join the Madrid discipline was Joselu, who arrived on loan from Espanyol in an agreement that includes a purchase option at the end of next season. The white team is armed with everything.
