After the merger of CaixaBank and Bankia a few months ago, there are still some pending issues, including certain integrations of the banks themselves. In fact, today there are two different mobile applications for each bank, something that will cease to be the case as of November 12. Among the services of these applications that will stop working for a few days in Bankia is Bizum.
Due to the merger of both banks, Bankia users will have to start using CaixaBank services. In this case, it will be the CaixaBank Now app that all your customers will have to cling to. After that day, users can continue to use their accounts and cards normally, but services such as Bizum will stop working for a few days.
Without Bizum until November 14
So that, from 3:00 p.m. on November 12 to November 14, Bankia users will not be able to access Bizum services. This means that they will not be able to send and receive money through their mobile devices. The day before, on November 11, the service will be suspended for users and they must re-register their line in Bizum through CaixaBank Now once the service is reactivated.
Unification of ATMs and changes in the contract
ATMs will also be unified from that day on, so users can go to either of both entities. The merger also entails a change in the IBAN numbering of user accounts, although it will be possible to operate normally in this sense, since operations that use the previous numbering will be automatically redirected to the new one.
November 12 also Bankia user card contracts will change, now becoming part of CaixaBank’s consumer finance and means of payment subsidiary. This will lead to a change in conditions. In this way, customers of Bankia’s ‘For being you’ program will be transferred to CaixaBank’s ‘Day to Day’ program, which could lead to an increase in commissions.
