After many years of success and requests from fans, the famous apocalyptic suspense video game will finally receive a television adaptation. And HBO Max finally gives us the first official trailer for the live action of The Last of Us.
What is it about?
The Last of Us takes place twenty years after a pandemic ravaged modern civilization. Joel is hired to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie out of an oppressive quarantine zone. But what starts out as a small job soon turns into a brutal and harrowing journey, as the two traverse this post-apocalyptic world teeming with infected humans turned into cannibalistic creatures. The video game series developed by Naughty Dog has achieved great sales numbers around the world and multiple awards in its industry.

The television adaptation is co-developed by Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin. The first is co-president of Naughty Dog, as well as the creative director and screenwriter of the video games of The Last of Us; for his part, the second is to whom we owe the creation of the acclaimed series Chernobyl.
The cast includes Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Nick Offerman, Gabriel Luna, Merle Dandridge, Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett, Jeffrey Pierce, and Anna Torv.
“Craig and Neil are visionaries in their own league. With them at the helm alongside the incomparable Carolyn Strauss, this series is sure to resonate with both die-hard fans of The Last of Us as well as among newcomers to this genre-defining saga,” says Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of programming for HBO. “We are thrilled to be able to work together with Naughty Dog, Word Games, Sony and PlayStation to adapt this epic and powerfully immersive story.”
