Despite the drawbacks that the United States’ veto of the Chinese company’s collaboration with American companies is having for Huawei, the Asian company continues to launch a multitude of terminals even though they do not come with Google’s services and applications. Today one of them, the Huawei P40 Lite, is updated to EMUI 10.1.
Contrary to what has happened other years, this time the Lite model of the Huawei P Series was presented well before its older brothers. In February it was already official and we were able to test it.
We are talking at all times about the original model since a short time later the company launched two variants of this P40 Lite, the Huawei P40 Lite E and the Huawei P40 Lite 5G.
The Huawei P40 Lite is updated to EMUI 10.1
This update is still based on Android 10 since Android 11 will not reach Huawei mobiles until EMUI 11 is launched, which is already in development. However, we will not see it on mobile until the Mate 40 are presented at the end of the year.
This interface, EMUI 10.1, includes some improvements with respect to EMUI 10, such as the voice assistant Celia, the new multitasking that we first saw in the Huawei Mate XS, the functions for connecting to Huawei computers, etc.
The security patch, as is usually normal, has been updated, in this case to June 2020, the penultimate currently available. The update occupies about 710 MB and will reach all users although the deployment by country is staggered, so it could be several days or a few weeks until we have it on our mobiles.
