The film and TV productions from the world of video games are beginning to become a reality. Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Halo or the Super Mario movie are good examples of this. Sony is paying special attention to this section, as we can see with the Gran Turismo movie.
That’s right, the Polyphony Digital franchise will have its own adaptation and we already know the first cast member. It is nothing more and nothing less than David Harbour, the star of Stranger Things who takes the role of Jim Hopper. His role will be to play a retired driver who will help a teenager drive better, as pointed out by the Hollywood Reporter.
And it is that said teenager, who still does not have a confirmed actor, will be the protagonist when trying to go from playing Grand Touring to become a professional driver for Nissan. What we do know is that Neill Blomkamp is the director of the film after having worked on District 9 and Elysium.
Jason Hall and Zach Baylin are writing the screenplay, with Kazunori Yamauchi serving as executive producer alongside Hall. The premiere of the movie Grand Touring is scheduled for August 11, 2023.
