One of the most prestigious awards in the industry musical American, the Grammys, have been a benchmark for a long time, but now they are forced to evolve to adapt to current times. In that sense, we have now learned that the Grammy will award video game soundtracks starting next year. This has been made known by the organization of the contest, which has announced new categories that will debut in the next edition and that will have as a great protagonist and new attraction the music of the interactive works.

The category will be called “Best soundtrack for video games and other interactive media” and this is what the official description that the Grammys have made public says: “recognizes excellence in soundtrack albums predominantly comprised of original and specifically created themes for, or as the company of, a current video game or other interactive medium released within the qualification period.” Thus, video games will be able to obtain another prestigious award for their music in addition to those already awarded by The Game Awards or the BAFTAs, among others.
