Lamborghini is in one of the best moments in its history, a sweet time in which year after year it exceeds its sales records thanks to the powerful Urus. The sporty SUV will receive a tune-up soon, but the Italian firm is also working on substitutes for the Aventador and the Huracán. The latter will be a completely new bull that we will see in 2024.
Lamborghini could not have liked the Urus better. The sports SUV of the Italian firm has become a real sales pillar, despite the fact that the decision of the firm to give the green light to the concept car of the same name raised more than blisters among the purists of the firm. Like all, the brand ignored those who were against and time has proved them right.
The Urus is the most important model and the one that finances new developments, although sales of the Aventador and the Hurricane They are not “pecata minuta” either. Of course not at the same level, but they are important too. Its successor will be released in just two years, in 2023, and only a year later the replacement for the Hurricane will also arrive, whose heir is also in development. The teams of the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand have an arduous task, because the two will start from one Blank sheet.
The replacement for the Lamborghini Huracán will be new, without inheritance from the R8
Completely new, the Hurricane will go out through the front door of the market in 2024 accumulating no less than a decade in the market, as it was presented in 2014 as the replacement for a beast of care, the Gallardo. The future model, which will adopt a new name, as is tradition in the Bologna brand, will also be offered again with both coupe and roadster bodies, and with a more radical and sporty design, but without losing the essence of the manufacturer.
However, beyond the design, it is the technical part the one that will arouse the most interest, since it is a completely new model that will not share anything with the Audi R8 it is already more than significant. It is only a part that will respond to the demands of customers, who prefer a more sensitive driving that transmits more sensations, compared to the great benefits, according to a survey launched last spring.
Lamborghini has already confirmed that the future replacement for the Aventador will keep the powerful naturally aspirated V12 engine, without supercharging, but nothing is known about the future of the Huracán in this regard. The possibilities with electrification are very wide, from using technology MHEV on the current 5.2-liter V12 to use a hybrid V8 or a powerful V6 biturbo equipped with a pair of electric motors, even three, with two rear and one front. What is more complicated is that the replacement of the Huracán is transferred to a V12, as some sources point out, or that it becomes a plug-in hybrid, the extra weight would play too against it.
