Within the horror series, Fatal Frame is a name that some people may recognize, but it is not on the level of Silent Hill or Resident Evil. In this way, there has always been the fear that the most recent installment is the last. While there are no plans for a completely new title at the moment, the property’s producer has mentioned that Yes Maiden of Black Water performs well, Fatal Frame could be a sequel.
In an interview with Famitsu, Keisuke Kikuchi, producer of Fatal Frame, mentioned that if this new version of Maiden of Black Water is performing well in the market, we could see a sequel. The executive did not clarify if he was referring to a direct continuation of this title, or only to a new installment of the series. This was what he commented:
“We hope that many players will take this opportunity to enter the series, and that it will lead us to the next game.”
Remember that Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water originally arrived on the Wii U in 2015, and not long ago it was confirmed that A port for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC will be available on October 28. Hopefully the sales are favorable enough, to show Koei Tecmo that there is an audience that wants to see more of this horror.
