Curved lines under a starry sky. This is how sparing and suggestive Xiaomi has presented the company’s first “high-end” smart speaker. The words belong to themselves, as we have been able to read in Gizchina. And if we look at the latest leaks, this speaker points quite high, right up to the stars.
Xiaomi’s first “high-end” smart speaker
Except for the poster, nothing else has been released by the brand, except that little phrase that adduces a high-end speaker.
The main rumors orbit around low latency connectivity with services that offer lossless audio quality like Tidal, Qobuz or the new Apple Music proposal. This perspective would compete with the many portable speakers on the market, although there is only clarification if it will compete with more contained systems such as the Echo Studio or the Bose Soundlink or if it will bet against the top of the range, such as the Sonos Five or the Denon Heos 7.
On the other hand, an old rumor has reactivated the possibility that this new speaker has a touch screen like the popular Lenovo Smart Display or perhaps with a more multimedia mindset, like the Echo Show.
Finally, this speaker is rumored to bet on the latest connectivity protocols –Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Dual Band 802.11b / g WiFi—, also betting on TWS technology to create a slave speaker chain or to mount a multi-room audio system where each speaker can independently reproduce a different audio source.
As the date on the poster indicates, next August 10 we will leave doubts, when Lei Jun coordinates what promises to be Xiaomi’s summer mega-event, where we also get to know the new Mi MIX 4 and most likely the company’s imminent OLED TV.
