The Munich brand has not been able to protect the new BMW M2 from, depending on how you look at it, undesirable leaks prior to the presentations, exposing the rear of the new sports compact. A debut scheduled for a few weeks, and that the brand is waiting to remove the camouflage of a new beast that promises to surpass its predecessor.
More than ready, we knew it and we were waiting for the German firm to confirm the world presentation of this new installment of the BMW M2 Coupe that we have been seeing in tests for a long time, and without revealing much. Those of the sports brand, who are in full celebration of their 50th anniversary, have no choice but to advance to the debut date, scheduled for this July but pending completion.
Given the great leak that has occurred, one of the countless within BMW, and it will not be the only one. This is the direct consequence of being one of the most anticipated versionsand that the interested parties are not satisfied with just a video in which the most powerful of the range of the new BMW 2 Series Coupé was seen in passing, while it has also been seen camouflaged on Mexican roads and at the door from the factory in San Luis de Potosí, where will be manufactured exclusively worldwide for all markets.
BMW M2 Coupé 2023, the expected sports car is filtered to the network
The leak shows the rear of the new BMW M2 Coupé, revealing a thin spoiler on the edge of the rear lid, as well as a sportier rear bumper finish. The until time vertical gills on the ends of the rear fender have been made more noticeable and striking, almost as much as the new lower insert that houses the aerodynamic diffuser in the center and flanked by the two pairs of round tailpipes with a generous diameter.
It can even be seen dressed in a special color, a bluish hue that fits like a glove, contrasting with the black finish of the alloy wheels and the edge of the glass surface and also with the rear lights. A differentiating detail of this M2 with the normal versions of the Series 2 Coupé is the darker finish of the lampshade of the pilots.
Minor details compared to the new, more personal image it will present at the front, with new, flatter headlights and a more vertical radiator grille, along with double horizontal bars. Nothing to do with the current model, nor inside, because it is the first of the 2 Series Coupés to feature the curved, frameless digital display occupying the dashboard. A cache plus for a very wild model, because this basic sports version -the M2 CSL awaits in the chamber- will match the level of performance of the current M2 CS with its 450 CV, direct to the rear axle through the 8-speed sports automatic transmission.
