It is not uncommon for the big competitors in the cell phone market to copy some features of their rivals. Earlier than later, Google I was going to reply the dynamic island of Manzanawhich arrived with the new iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max and that has been the main great difference between one generation and another.
The success of the Dynamic Island has led Android developers to work on their own dynamic island. As revealed in recent days, this tool, which takes a software approach to create a dark area around the camera split, has replaced the notch on previous iPhone versions.
The island displays a variety of information, such as notifications, Apple Pay updates, and music playback. Additionally, connected devices like AirPods can also display status information in the mini window.
As a report published on the website of Tech Spota third-party studio called Jawomo, which specializes in quality of life apps for Android, listened to the positive feedback from Android users about the Dymamic Island and developed an application called dynamicSpotwhich has a similar purpose as Apple Island.
How does dynamic Spot work?
The dynamicSpot app requires push notifications to be enabled. Unfortunately, this setting causes the same information to be displayed twice: instead of the zoomed-in camera and once in a push notification.
The app still has some benefits for users, allowing them to customize many aspects of the island, such as position, size, notifications, and more.
Android users can upgrade to a paid version through an in-app purchase. The update allows those customers to long tap on the spot, which expands it into a much larger bubble, similar to what Apple demonstrated in the Dynamic Island demo.
