In a recent interview, the director of Loki spoke about the future of Kang the Conqueror in the MCU. We tell you what she said in this note!
The director of Loki, Kate Herron, spoke in a recent interview about the future of Kang the Conqueror within the MCU. The character first appeared in the series 2021which at the same time was the third series of the phase four. In Lokiin case you didn’t see it or don’t know, we follow the variant of our beloved god of deception who managed to escape Avengers: Endgame.
But he couldn’t go very far since the TVA (Temporal Variation Authority) captured it for being an unauthorized variant. In order to be saved, Loki he becomes one of those in charge of finding another of his variants that is wreaking havoc in the multiverse. This variant is called Sylvie and, to no one’s surprise, Loki ends up helping her in her search for those in charge of the VAT in order to be saved.
The series became a fan favorite. Marvel as well as critics, and its actors were highly praised. One of these actors was Jonathan Majors, who appeared briefly in the last episode of Loki and it turned out to be the one behind TVA. In a scene that many compared to Matrix, the character of Majors ends up being killed by Sylviewho puts one of the most powerful variants of the character on a collision course, Kang the Conqueror.
In a recent interview on The Playlist, Herron talked about his experience working on such a popular series as Loki. But one question caught a lot of attention from fans. When asked what it was like to work with Majors, the director shared that it was a pleasure to see him develop the character. Although this was not all.
The director also said that “[Majors] he’s a fantastic actor and it honestly felt like directing a play. Which was a lot of fun. That was the question. It was a privilege to see an incredible actor find his character because he is going to become a wonderful character.”. With these words, we can be almost sure that we will see it again, even if it is as another variant.
The first season of Loki left us with a rather surprising ending, where our dear God ended up in a universe where Kang the Conqueror seemed to be the governor of VAT. So we will surely see Majors play some variant of his character in the second season. What is confirmed is that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will formally introduce the villain into the MCU.
