Hyundai N is about to usher in a new era in its successful, albeit short, history. The high-performance division of the South Korean brand has already officially announced the official presentation of the first electric sports car that has passed through its hands. The debut of the new Hyundai IONIQ 5 N is drawing near.
The sports division hyundai n already confirmed a few months ago that they will not be limited to the higher-performance versions of the traditional combustion models, but that they truly aspire to leave their special mark on all models, be they thermal, hydrogen cell or battery-powered electric. And the first great challenge is about to be presented, since it has been the sports brand that has officially announced its first zero-emission sports car.
And it’s the new Hyundai IONIQ 5N. The most explosive version of the new 100% electric crossover that accumulates months in tests with more or less camouflage on the test prototypes. The last time the most powerful of the new IONIQ 5 were spotted in spy photos was at the beginning of last spring, disappearing after the panorama. The indication that his presentation was really close.

And just a few days later, the first advance payment has already been made, showing a trail in the characteristic blue of Hyundai’s special division. It is difficult, if not impossible, to know which model is the one in the wake, but there are not many more options than this, that of the brutal South Korean crossover. It is the only one on the agenda of the manufacturer’s next launches, and the one that fits perfectly with the tagline of the teaser, which they refer to as “Imagining the future of N”.
The mysterious advance, which will be revealed on July 15, does not even hint at changes in the design of the IONIQ 5, the true key to this more performance model that, despite presenting you with a preview, it is difficult to imagine an extra aggressiveness on top of the avant-garde exterior design. And it is that we have barely been able to see one lower ride height, larger tread and wider tires. A detail that confirms that under the bowels are the most powerful electric motors that Hyundai has in its department.
In the absence of confirmation, it is expected that they will be the same as those mounted by the recent KIA EV6 GT, a true beast with a maximum power that reaches no less than 585 CVadding all-wheel drive and a powerful battery with a net capacity of 77.4 kWh, with which the maximum autonomy will slightly exceed 400 kilometers. In return, those interested will have some dizzying performance, especially a really amazing acceleration from zero to 100 km/h, in just under 3.5 seconds.
