The golden age of superheroes in the world of cinema goes through a strange period where Marvel Studios and its MCU do not look as consistent as before. While DC Comics and the DCEU seems to be dead.
But it seems there is a glimmer of hope for the old guard: Batman/The Joker: The Deadly Duo. A new story of this comics publishing house that could save the future of the publisher in the near future, with everything and that is coming close aztec batman.
The curious thing here is that this new editorial product (independent of the anime) is born from a logic similar to what we saw at the time with the DCEU, where the stories emanating from that project were mainly of a much more adult cut.
And somehow here the story more or less repeats itself, but with an interesting approach that seems to come out of a fan-fiction focused on answering a morbid question: what would happen if Batman and the Joker teamed up?
What Batman/The Joker: The Deadly Duo Is About
As reported by our colleagues from Beat Comics the comic house will launch a new series called Batman/The Joker: The Deadly Duo written and drawn by Marc Silvestri.
This comic will be part of the DC Black Label label, focused on an adult audience with much more violent, raw and current stories. For example here, the Dark Knight and the Joker will have to unite against a dangerous threat that puts all of Gotham City at risk:
“Batman and the Joker are two of the world’s most iconic characters and have been at each other’s throats for over 80 years. I always thought it would be really fun to have them on the same side, so I wrote a story about it. Needless to say, things happen.”
This is what the creator of this new saga, Marc Silvestri, points out, an old name that is more than well-known within DC Comics in his capacity as a screenwriter.
Although this will hardly be the second time that he will draw for this firm, so Batman/The Joker: The Deadly Duo will become the spiritual relay of his previous work drawn here, Batman: Black & White, from 1996.
Unfortunately the details of the plot are few, although the official synopsis does give us an idea of the spectrum of this publication:
The conflict between Batman and the Joker has been one of the most historic in all of literature. Always adversaries, they have rarely had to work together, but this November iconic storyteller Marc Silvestri tells the definitive story of a fragile alliance between the Dark Knight and the Clown Prince of Crime in Batman/The Joker: The Deadly Duo.”
This will technically be a limited series of seven issues and will be released for sale starting next Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
