Dacia can boast of having in its portfolio one of the most popular and successful SUVs globally. The Dacia Duster, throughout its two generations, has established itself as a true benchmark within its competitive category. A model that has also come has been in the sights of trainers and specialists in car modifications.
In recent years we have witnessed numerous transformations of the Duster. Especially in a pick-up type vehicle. However, no one expected that Dacia’s cheap SUV would have the necessary features to become a luxurious and exclusive car. The Duster has been transformed into a limousine. Are we facing the longest Duster in the world? Let’s go into detail.
The transformation of the Dacia Duster into a limousine
A very interesting project based on the Dacia model has appeared by surprise. The Pitesti University of Mechanics and Technology, in Romania, has organized an event in which to show the public some of its students’ automotive projects. As the university was close to the historic Dacia factory, it was the right time to discover some projects. Among them, the mentioned duster limousine.
Just take a quick look at the images that illustrate this article to realize that it is not a transformation of the current model. It’s more, this limousine created on the basis of the Duster dates from the year 2018. Therefore, being exhibited again has been an excellent opportunity to learn more about a vehicle that, without a doubt, no one expected.
The Duster used as the basis for the creation of this sedan has been lengthened by 1.52 meters so that its wheelbase reaches 4.19 m respectively. After this change, the total length of the limousine Duster is 5.84 m. The bodywork is painted in a brown hue, a color that contrasts with the silver-grey wing mirror caps, footrests and roof bars.
Making the Dacia Duster an office on wheels
It is described as “mobile office” by its creators. And despite being a limousine, inside there is still only five seats. However, the rear seats become individual seats arranged in two rows facing each other. Additional windows and several sunroofs have also been installed to flood the cabin with natural light.
The equipment has been improved to be able to play that role of office on wheels. It has a socket to charge a laptop, internet connection through a mobile network, a large screen with a camera for video conferences, folding tables and numerous auxiliary lights.
