Yesterday May 20 arrived Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service, which among its benefits offers access to a Nintendo 64 emulator with more than a dozen games. However, the game came with a bug in the aquatic levels, which has caused inconvenience for some players.
The bug in question is only present in the aquatic levels, and what it does is that Kirby gets stuck in the damage animation when hit by certain underwater enemies. This bug cannot be fixed, so the game has to be restarted to continue, which has been annoying for affected players.

Some Twitter and Reddit users have reported this error, so it seems to be a common bug. Also, those who played Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards on the Nintendo 64 say they don’t recall having this error, so it appears to be caused by an issue with the Nintendo Switch emulator.
This is not the first time that a Nintendo Switch Online game has had problems with its emulation, but Nintendo has been gradually improving these bugs. However, we will have to wait until the next month, as Nintendo usually updates its emulator when new games arrive on the service.
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards is only a day old on Nintendo Switch Online, so we could be more affected by this aquatic bug in the coming days.
