In an ongoing effort to serve the needs of its citizens and the nation, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Alex Bornyakov announced the sale of a CryptoPunks NFT for 90 Ether (ETH)which was received as a donation on April 20, 2022.

The CryptoPunk 5364 NFT was donated to the Aid For Ukraine campaign by user 0x165cd3, who acquired the work on March 1, 2022for 16.19 ETH, which at the time was worth $31,722. Shortly after the NFT was donated to Ukraine, it received a purchase offer for 100 ETH, valued at $288,414 on April 27, the highest offer it has ever received..
And on Sunday: Ukraine sold CryptoPunk 5364 for 90 ETH, valued at $102,640. However, the buyer, 0xc08f6d, spent $103,523 to offset Ethereum gas fees.
The NFT belongs to a collection of 6039 Male punksa pixelated variation of male characters.
Ukraine has become the third country that is not a member of the European Union – after Norway and Liechtenstein – to join the European Blockchain Association (EBP) as an observer.. Following this step, the country plans to expand its partnership of interstate blockchain networks with other countries.
Konstantin Yarmolenkofounder and CEO of Virtual Assets of Ukraine, told Cointelegraph of Ukraine’s interest in launching the EBSI test node and pilot use cases of cross-border public services based on blockchain technology.
Also, highlighted that crypto donations during the Russian-Ukrainian war “proved to be an important support”, stating:
“The next step is the full integration of blockchain in Ukraine and the EU based on the EBP/EBSI initiatives.”
