The event whose images have gone viral, happened in an unofficial Apple store, located in the Seg International shopping center, in Shaanxi province in China. The crowd led a massive queue on the escalators to a phone store in the mall at the time of the opening, to grab one of the iPhones.

In the images, released by various local media, posters of other phone manufacturers are seen, confirming that it did not happen at an official Apple point of sale. The large number of people who attended forced the store to suspend sales on the same day of launch. Instead, customers were told to arrive on Saturday, giving the retailer more time to prepare.
