john wick is ready to expand his horizons with the premiere of The Continental, a series about the mythical hotel that hosts the franchise’s deadliest assassins. While the film saga continues to grow and apparently has no plans to stop, the story also aims to conquer television.
A great production team is behind this new project and also a very attractive cast. Do you want to know all the details?
What will it be about?
The Continental gets its name from the hotel you surely remember from the movie franchise. It will be told from the perspective of a young administrator of the venue. None other than Winston Scott, who in the movies is played by Ian McShane.
The series will tell the stories of the type of visitors the hotel receives. A trip through the underworld of the seventies in New York. The central character will face the demons of his past, while trying to gain control of a compound that serves as a meeting point for the most dangerous criminals in the world.
Production team and cast
Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward (wayne) are the showrunners and writers of The Continental. shawn simons (wayne) also serves as a writer. Albert Hughes (The Book of Secrets) directs the first and third nights, while charlotte brandstrom (the rings of power) directs the second night.
Coolidge, Ward, Simmons and Hughes also serve as executive producers, along with Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, David Leitch, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese and Marshall Persinger.
The Lionsgate Television production boasts a multi-star cast that promises great moments. Winston Scott will be played by Colin Woodell (The Flight Attendant). He will be joined by nothing more and nothing less than Mel Gibson (Brave heart) in the role of Cormac and Ayomide Adegun (The Hunger Games: Ballad of songbirds and snakes) as a young Charon.
In addition, we will see Ben Robson (Vikings) as Frankie; Hubert Point du Jour (Dr Death) as Thousands; Jessica Allan (The Laundromat) as Lou; Mishel Prada (Life) as KD; Nhung Kate (The Housemaid) as Yen and Peter Greene (Training Day), who will play a different version of Uncle Charlie.
When and where to see The Continental?
The three part miniseries The Continental will be released in September 2023.
After many comings and goings between chains and platforms of streamingthe series was left in the hands of Prime Video worldwide (except the United States, the Middle East and Israel).
In a press release, Chris Mansolillo, director of content for the platform, expressed his excitement at continuing to expand the legacy of john wick.
