With new technological advances, artists are looking for different ways to add value to their concerts, from remote performances that were explored thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, to projecting themselves as holograms. But thanks to developments in space, The Chainsmokers are going to go one step further and take their music to the top by playing outside the Earthright on the edge of space.
And it is that the duo made up of Drew Taggart and Alex Pall will join the new aerospace proposal by venturing to travel in a pressurized capsule tied to a stratospheric balloon that will reach the limit between our planet and space to interpret their songs, thus becoming in the first musicians to play far from Earth.

According to the Page Six portal, the space tourism company in charge of carrying out this feat, World View, declared that The Chainsmokers will be on one of the inaugural flights scheduled to take place sometime in 2024.. The intention of this is to record the pair playing some of their songs while giving passengers an out of this planet musical experience.
“We have always dreamed of going to space and we are excited to collaborate with World View to have this adventure and experience,” the duo said in a statement. “We know that the views of Earth and space are going to be incredible and inspiring and we look forward to using this flight for creativity in future projects”.

World View’s decision to take The Chainsmokers into account for this type of adventure was inspired by the son of one of the company’s directors, explaining that thanks to him they were able to learn about the impact of the band with the young generation and how much that they can achieve by involving them in this issue of space.
“I just saw firsthand how his music reaches so many different groups, so many different age groups and how passionate they are about his music and his art. It coincides with our passion for what we do”said Ryan Hartman, CEO of the space company.
