Corporate reputation is the result of everything the brand does.
Reputation constitutes 63 percent of a company’s market value.
Nine out of ten say that their company’s reputation is important to their management committee.
The image and reputation of a brand is today more measured thanks to social networks, since in these media any information can be viralized, reaching millions of people around the world. Recently, the name of the Argentine group Los Caligaris was seen in trends, after firing one of its members for insulting Mexicans.
Reputation is something that we are all caring, because what the world and others think of us can sometimes be important. When we talk about brands, reputation is everything, because these are the ideas and emotions that users associate with a brand.
According to specialists, these ideas are built from the degree of compliance with the brand to its customers, employees, shareholders and the community in general.
Brand reputation can be applied very well in public figures, such as artists and even those known today as influencers.
The Caligaris fire member
The controversy that took place on social networks between Federico Zapata, a member of Los Caligaris and Paco Villa, a TUDN commentator, where the singere launched a series of comments and insults towards Mexicans.
Faced with this controversy, the Argentine group through a statement separated Zapata from the band.
All this occurred after Argentina’s victory over France in the World Cup Final, which gave them to the South American team its third star, the member of the Caligaris responded to a comment by Paco Villa, who had criticized the attitudes of goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez.
In response to the commenter, Zapata posted “And you are different because of your envy, resentment and for having a broken tail… stop crying, try football or baseball, the best footballers you have there are called foreigners… fagot.”
The band’s trombonist’s comment became a trend, affecting the reputation of the South American group in Mexico, where they have a large following of fans and have performed on stages such as the Live Latino, National Auditorium and festivals in practically all the states of the Mexican Republic for more than a decade.
Given this, in the statement, released by the Caligaris, they expressed: “Friends and friends: We are very sorry for the situation that has been generated from the tweets published by Federico Zapata. His words do not reflect our values, our feelings, our love for Mexico and its people.
“Given such a situation, we announce the DISCONNECTION of this member’s band, since his statements full of violence do not represent us,” the statement read.

And it is thus, as it is increasingly common for social networks to play a very essential role in everything that happens in the world, so it is easy for any comment or action is disseminated to the point of viralizing and tarnishing the image of a brand, public figure, among others.
As an example, all the cancellation that has been made so far against the rapper Kanye West, after launching a series of anti-Semitic comments and against the community Jewish, earning him the cancellation of millionaire contracts with brands like Adidas and even Balenciaga.
And it is so As more and more reputation is a primary element when attracting new followers, users and sales are involved, so taking care of everything that is said in the digital world is important.
