Bugatti has completed production of the exclusive Chiron and is already looking to the future with the first external collaboration in its most modern history, with Rimac. The French firm says goodbye to a successful model, with the delivery of the last unit of the exclusive Chiron Super Sport 300+, a beast of which only 30 units have been produced with a unique quality to boast about.
A single unit of the exclusive French hypercar put an end to its serial production. The Bugatti Chiron has said goodbye and now is the time to shape its successor, which promises to be more brutal in every way than the Veyron’s successor, although those from Molsheim will this time have the help of Rimac technicians specialized in electrification at the highest level.
Few predicted that the replacement for the Veyron would become a success, despite the high price of the Chiron, whose 500 units have been sold in their entirety and are distributed throughout the world. Last June its production ended, and now the last unit -of the 30 available- of one of the versions that has broken all the possible records that have been set before it has been delivered. Bugatti has said goodbye to the Chiron Super Sport 300+.
Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+
The Chiron Super Sport 300+ is a unique model in the world, due to its carbon fiber bodywork and a series of details that reinforce this quality. For example, the light material is presented to the eye, admiring the internal wefts, but also for its 250 millimeter elongated rear that increases the surface area covered by the air at high speed, which improves its aerodynamics by more than 40% or the powerful magnesium alloy wheels that considerably reduce the weight.
But also because the powerful 8.0-liter four-turbocharged W16 engine has been able to reach a maximum power of 1,600 hp, a hundred more than the “base” Chiron. It seems little but it is a lot in a propellant as powerful and tight as this block, with which it has become one of the unbeatable models before the competition. On the Volkswagen test circuit in Ehra-Lessien, it was able to reach a top speed of no less than 490.484 km/h, even though it is electronically limited to 440 km/h. A figure that, according to Bugatti, is enough for an “average user”.
The person responsible for such a feat achieved in 2019 was the official pilot of the French house Andy Wallace, one of the celebrations to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the brand founded by Ettore Bugatti. Of course he is not one of the staff, but someone so special that he can boast that the last of the 30 units of this majestic Chiron will sleep forever in his garage. Because this time yes, the firm has confirmed who is the new owner of the latest Chiron.
