The 2022 BMW 8 Series Coupé Facelift passes the phase. The German sports car abandons the road and urban tests arriving at the Nürburgring circuit and testing the improvements applied to the chassis and its engines. Completely camouflaged, only a few details can be seen on the back of a facelift that will be a world first at the end of the year.
The range of BMW 8 Series faces a facelift. The three bodies that compose it have camouflaged prototypes touring Germany, hiding the new design from the eyes of others and outlining the new technical and mechanical configurations. The 8 Series Coupé reappears again, the same prototype that was sighted in its first spy photos last March.
And almost also on the same stage because, then, he was hunted at the exit of the BMW facilities near the Nürburgring circuit, and now he appears on its asphalt. The prototypes have been moved there to face a new phase after five months in tests around Munich, and in which it is now about adjust dynamic improvements in the chassis and ensure perfect delivery of maximum performance of its mechanics.
The BMW 8 Series Coupé Facelift will arrive in spring 2022
The BMW 8 Series LCI keeps the entire front camouflaged, without being able to perceive changes. Despite this, we can point out that the exterior image will be more sporty and aggressive, since the sports package “M Sport” will be standard. The air intakes will be of a more generous size and the ovoid grille will be painted black, preserving the vertical bars. The rear reveals the design of this package more clearly, with vertical openings at the ends of the fender.
Despite having seen the interior completely exposed, this new sequence of images also allows a glimpse of the dashboard. The 8 Series Coupé 2022 will not feature the large curved screen which is spreading through the model range, preserving the more traditional design. This area will receive occasional touch-ups, as well as the latest version of iDrive software for the infotainment systemplus driving assistants with improved operation.
The BMW 8 Series LCI will be presented at the end of the year, as its commercialization is scheduled for the end of spring 2022. The two-door sports car will maintain the current offering of the 840i, 840d and M850i, with improvements that will achieve a little extra power, along with improved efficiency. In the absence of official confirmation, the first will equal the figure to recent models, passing from current 333 hp to 374 hp and the second will do the same by increasing from 320 hp to 340 hp. The automatic transmission will remain 8-speed, the «Steptronic».
