It is not the first time that the universe of ‘Star Wars’ jump to manga format, but finally it is the turn of the new generation of franchise titles. And it is that ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘Star Wars: Visions’ will also have their own manga adaptations by great cartoonists in the industry.
From the small screen to manga
‘Star Wars: Visions’ already boasted of having been the perfect combination between anime and the universe of george lucaswith several of the most powerful anime studios of the moment giving their own flavor to the worlds and lore of ‘Star Wars’.
As reported by Anime Network, the manga adaptation of these series has been announced by the publisher. Big Ganganwhere the first of these manga will be published next 25 of May.
Each of the shorts will be adapted into a self-concluding manga chapter, starting with ‘The Elder’. Kamome Shirahamathe author of ‘Witch Hat Atelier’, already did the character design for the short at the time and will now also be in charge of translating this first story into a manga.
Then came adaptations of ‘Lop & Ochou’ by haruichi‘The Ninth Jedi’ by Yūsuke Ōsawaand ‘The Twins’ by keisuke satoalthough more episodes from the anthology’s first season are expected to be adapted as well.
Ōsawa will also be in charge of the manga adaptation of ‘The Mandalorian’ which will be released on May 25 in issue 6 of the magazine. What is still not very clear is whether it will be a self-contained special chapter or will lead to a miniseries or even an open series inspired by the adventures of Din Djarin.
While we see what happens in the field of manga, season 3 of ‘The Mandalorian’ continues its production and could arrive at the end of the year. As for the anime of the franchise, there are pretty strong rumors that ‘Star Wars: Visions’ could have a second season and that could be confirmed during the next Star Wars Celebration.
